And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully. [17:26]

*

Those who join that which Allah has commanded to be joined (i.e. they are good to their relatives and do not sever the bond of kinship), fear their Lord, and dread the terrible reckoning (i.e. abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allah has forbidden and perform all kinds of good deeds which Allah has ordained). [13:21]

*

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. [4:1]

Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess.
Indeed, Allah orders justice and good conduct and giving to relatives and forbids immorality and bad conduct and oppression.

It is reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that he said:

We were forbidden that we should ask anything (without the genuine need) from the Holy Prophet. It, therefore, pleased us that an intelligent person from the dwellers of the desert should come and asked him (the Holy Prophet) and we should listen to it.

A man from the dwellers of the desert came (to the Holy Prophet) and said:

“Muhammad, your messenger came to us and told us your assertion that verily Allah had sent you (as a prophet).”

The Holy Prophet remarked:

“He told the truth.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“Who created the heaven?”

He (the Holy Prophet) replied:

“Allah.”

He (the bedouin again) said:

“Who raised these mountains and who created in them whatever is created there?”

He (the Holy Prophet) replied:

“Allah.”

Upon this he (the bedouin) remarked:

“By Him Who created the heaven and created the earth and raised mountains thereupon, has Allah in fact sent you?”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“Yes.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“Your messenger also told us that five prayers (had been made) obligatory for us during the day and the night.”

He (the Holy Prophet) remarked:

“He told you the truth.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“By Him Who sent you, is it Allah Who ordered you about this (i.e. prayers)?

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“Yes.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“Your messenger told us that Zakat had been made obligatory in our riches.”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“He has told the truth.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“By Him Who sent you as a prophet, is it Allah Who ordered you about it (zakat)?”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“Yes.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“Your messenger told us that it had been made obligatory for us to fast every year during the month of Ramadan.”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“He has told the truth.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“By Him Who sent you as a prophet, is it Allah Who ordered you about it (the fasts of Ramadan)?”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“Yes.”

He (the bedouin) said:

“Your messenger also told us that pilgrimage (Hajj) to the House of Ka’bah had been made obligatory for him who is able to undertake the journey to it.”

He (the Holy Prophet) said:

“Yes.”

The narrator said that he (the bedouin) set off (at the conclusion of this answer, but at the time of his departure) remarked:

“By Him Who sent you with the Truth, I would neither make any addition to them nor would I diminish anything out of them.”

Upon this, the Holy Prophet remarked:

“If he were true (so what he said) he must enter Paradise.”

“Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? And at the heaven, how it is raised? And at the mountains, how they are rooted? And at the earth, how it is outspread?” [88:17-21]

Do they not look at the camels, how they are created. Indeed, it is an amazing creation, and the way it has been fashioned is strange. For it is extremely powerful and strong, yet gentle, carrying heavy loads. It allows itself to be guided by a weak rider. It is eaten, benefit is derived from its hair, and its milk is drunk. They are reminded of this because the most common domestic animal of the Arabs was the camel.

Then Allah says, And at the mountains, how they are rooted. Meaning, how they have been erected. For indeed they are firmly affixed so that the earth does not sway with its dwellers. And He made them with the benefits and minerals they contain.

And at the earth, how it is outspread. Meaning, how it has been spread out, extended and made smooth.

Thus, He directs the bedouin (the people of the desert) to consider what he himself witnesses. His camel that he rides upon, the sky that is above his head, the mountain that faces him, and the earth that is under him; all of this is proof of the power of the Creator and Maker of these things. These things should lead him to see that He is the Lord, the Most Great, the Creator, the Owner, and the Controller of everything. Therefore, He is the God other than Whom none deserves to be worshipped.

“Allah will not show mercy to a person who does not show mercy to other people.”

[Adab al-Mufred, 375]

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “He who does not show mercy to our young or show esteem for our elders is not one of us.”

[Bukhari, 360]

The man said: “This dog is as thirsty as I was.” He went down back into the well and filled his show, putting it into his mouth (in order to climb back up) and then gave the dog water. Therefore Allah thanked him and forgave him.”

They said: “Messenger of Allah, will we have a reward on account of animals?”

He said: “There is a reward on account of every living thing.”

[Adab al-Mufred, 378]

Abu Umama reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Anyone who shows mercy, even to an animal meant for slaughtering, will be shown mercy by Allah on the Day of Rising.”

“Allah is He Who has created the heavens and the earth and sends down water (rain) from the sky, and thereby brought forth fruits as provision for you; and He has made the ships to be of service to you, that they may sail through the sea by His command; and He has made rivers (also) to be service to you.

And He has made the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing their courses, to be of service to you; and He has made the night and the day to be of service to you.

And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you try to count the blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Verily, man is indeed an extreme wrongdoer, ungrateful.” [14:32-34]

Allah mentions some of the favors He has done for His creatures, such as creating the heavens as a protective ceiling and the earth as a bed. He also sends down rain from the sky and, in its aftermath brings forth a variety of vegetation, fruits and plants of different colors, shapes, tastes, scents and uses. Allah also made the ships sail on the surface of the water by His command and He made the sea able to carry these ships in order that travelers can transfer from one area to another to transport goods. Allah also created the rivers that flow through the earth from one area to another as provision for the servants which they use to dring and irrigate, and for other benefits.

“And he has made the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing their courses, rotating by night and by day,

“It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit.” [36:40]

“He brings the night as a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created) the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His command. His is the creation and commandment. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of all that exists!” [7:54]

The sun and the moon rotate in succession, and the night and the day are opposites, each taking from the length of the other or giving up some of its length,

“Allah merges the night into day and merges the day into night.” [35:13]

“And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running (on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the Almighty, the Oft-Forgiving.” [39:5]

Allah said next, “And He gave you of all that you asked for,

He has prepared for you all that you need in all conditions, and what you ask Him to provide for you, and if you try to count the blessings of Allah, never will you be able to count them. Allah states that the servants are never able to count His blessings, let alone thank Him duly for them.

In Sahih al-Bukhari (hadith book) it is recorded that the Messenger of Allah used to supplicate:

“O Allah! Allah praise is due to You, without being able to sufficiently thank You, nor ever wish to be cutoff from You, nor ever feeling rich from relying on You; our Lord!”

It was reported that Prophet Dawud, peace be upon him, used to say in his supplication:

“O Lord! How can I ever duly thank You, when my thanking You is also a favor from You to me.” Allah the Exalted answered him, “Now, you have thanked Me sufficiently, O Dawud!” Meaning; when you admitted that you will never be able to duly thank me.
